SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER - GRADE ?M?
Reporting to the Software Manager, an experienced Software Test Engineer is required with at least 2 years experience of software test in an embedded environment. The candidate will be responsible for the planning, development and execution of testing for all software products. The candidate will need to have a good understanding of test case development within the context of safety related software standards such as EN50128 or IEC 61508. The individual will work closely with the software development engineers to ensure a high level of quality in safety related software prior to release.
Required skills:
Good understanding of testing embedded software products. Familiarity with test equipment such as emulators, oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analysers and protocol analysers would be necessary.
Useful skills:
It would be an advantage for the candidate to have used Telelogic DOORS (although training can be provided). Familiarity with ?C? and general firmware skills would be an advantage. Knowledge of automatic testing, generation of test scripts or module level testing would also be advantageous.
The successful candidate would need to be self motivated and able to demonstrate an assertive attitude in day to day activities.
The role will involve dealing with mechatronic solutions and products containing advanced control systems designed and built at Westinghouse.
